Painterly Ponders

Pet portraits come in many forms, and this page gives you ideas for dog watercolour paintings.

Whether you have a bouncy  Labrador, an excitable Spaniel, or a devoted German Shepherd, I can create a beautiful drawing or painting of them.

I don’t take lightly the importance of pets and how they become a member of your family. My goal is to capture their spirit – creating a memory as well as a lovely dog watercolour pet portrait.

Sometimes, the traditional idea of an animal painting can be expressed differently. Wearing my landscape artist hat, I can combine landscape painting ideas with a favourite memory to capture your dog in a favourite location. Perhaps frolicking in the waves at the seaside!

I’d love to hear from you for an initial chat, and to hear more about your beloved pet whether they are still with you or have passed.

Dog Watercolour Pet Portrait Options

You can choose paper type, style, and size. If you’re looking for a pet
portrait in coloured pencil, I can do that too. The pricing is different because those can take longer, but the option is there.

This example is painted on handmade cotton rag paper with deckled edges. It’s my favourite paper because I think it adds to the artwork overall.
